Day Eighteen

Cereal!

In acting we did a scene with slow motion and sped-up motion. It was good times. In art we kept painting, but on Monday we have to not paint, and just look at our work for a class (I'm sure we'll be doing more then just looking at it, but you know). In English we finished then revised one of two drafts we wrote over the last two days, and submitted it for marking. We had forty-five minutes to do it, and even though both of my drafts were already finished, I still felt rushed when the bell rang to start the Terry Fox Run. Apparently almost nobody runs (even the in-shape kids), because as a friend and I speed-walked past everybody, I saw lots of boys from the football team, hockey boys, and rugby boys - all walking. But whatevs! I was actually looking forward to running it, but with Ol' Faithful acting up, there was no way. In math we had to partner up and do an activity thing with calculations and stuff, and I think my partner was thrilled to be with me, because I knew how to do it, even though the teacher had only briefly touched on it. I spent my spare in the library reading. I had to: In the cafeteria I don't want to concentrate on a book, because Muscles Nimbulus and friends are always there as well.
Tomorrow is a birthday party! It's one of those '8 PM - 10 AM' things where you just know if you go to sleep you'll wake up somehow different then when you went to bed. I'm excited!

Day Seveteen

**Non-school tidbits**
My ACL (big-boy knee ligament) is still alive! My new best buddy Kyle even told me so. He was really tall and helpful. I told him everything I had done to it (torn hamstring, four twisty-cracky-sprains. I left out the chipped bone bit, because it wasn't related), and he kept a straight face throughout, then said, 'You may have hope, because with previously torn hamstrings, they could just be weak and pretend to be a torn ACL.' Which made me very smiley, because I was terrified that my ACL was blown to smithereens, and even a bit of hope is hope. He did his little poke-bend-twist things, and when he was finished he let out a big sigh. He said that he was really afraid that I had torn it, because everything I said usually means a torn ACL, but it ISN'T! When he was giving my the ultrasound we chatted about my old town, cause he's totally been there. Then when he was giving me a stretch to do he explained it, and I did it no problem. He raised his eyebrows, said maybe I didn't tear it after all, and that he'd have to give me the really advanced version. So. WAHOO!

At school all was well! There was a junior football game but I didn't stay. In art we painted. In English we wrote. In math we mathed, and in acting we acted. Our scene went REALLY well, everybody was sort of speechless and breath-y afterwards. I was told by people who have watched theatre for ages that it was one of the best death scenes they had seen. So the moral of the lesson is: I can die really well! It was sweet. We got really into it, and when my partner stabbed me she screamed so loudly and convincingly, I thought I really had been stabbed for a second. Then when she stabbed me a few more times on the floor, I made myself go all sweaty and shaky, then still. SO much fun - I love dying on stage.

Day Sixteen

I signed up for the one acts today! Grade twelves who want to direct a one act, and then mass auditions are held, and all the directors sit in the seats and judge / bargain for who they like best, then you get called back if anybody liked you. I'm excited. We had a test in math today - easy as pi (HA. How many times has that one been said?). We also had a fire drill: The first fire drill of my life! Pretty darn impacting.
In art we kept painting, and I got the face in the sky to look much more better, and I started painting the chess board path, so that's very exciting. English was good too. Besides the learning, the guys at my table are just hilarious. So much fun. I wore a Zeppelin shirt today, and the guy who sits across from me had one too, and they were both from '77. We laughed about it. In acting we started work on a partnered 'dramatic' scene, and ours is gonna be SO good - my character gets stabbed! Oh boy.
After school my spare friend (aww) and I went uptown and ate pizza! Then we went to Cobs Bread so she could get a scone, and I didn't want anything, but the lady behind the counter gave us pastry donut sprinkle things for freebies, and they were delicious!

Day Fifteen

Same ol' same ol' in classes. In English we read about a speech from a Shakespearean play, and now we're writing an essay on it. That's pretty normal for an English Honors class: 'Read everything. Now write about it!' In art we continued painting. Now I think my background looks less like a broken pool, and more like a chilly ... artsy... blue scene (which is what I was going for). In acting we performed another two person scene, and ours was first, which is good, because then class ended and everybody but us has to remember their stuff for tomorrow. Since I forgot to bring a costume and my oh-so-competent partner brought one for me, we looked the part. After school I went to the doctor, and he checked out my leg and stuff. I went upstairs today to make an appointment for physio, and I'm pumped! The receptionist was all, 'You're therapist will be Kyle,' then she handed me my appointment with the name on it, and I glanced at the wall with the pictures of the therapists. Yea, he's the buff young one. No big deal. Next Thursday, awh yes.
Hey there, Kyle. Deal with this!
(and no. Those aren't shadows)

Monday

I ate sushi for lunch today.

This is how it made me feel.

Weekend, boi!

Fun times! The little party wasn't actually painful at all, it was really good! We sat down to supper, and there was chicken delicious-ness, and my friend picked up her fork and was halfway to her mouth when she shouts, 'YOU'RE A VEGETARIAN!' They felt bad for forgetting, but I think I felt worse! That's what's funny. When you aren't a vegetarian, if there's no food for a vegetarian you feel bad. When you are a vegetarian and there's no food, you still feel bad. So I had cheese in place of my chicken!
I don't have school tomorrow, whee! Maybe I'll watch a movie and start it at ten and stay up late with a bagel. Or better yet... I'll go to bed!

Day Fourteen

Whoa. You should all watch Cinderella Man. It's super good! It's about a boxer in the 30's, and it's a true story, and it's super good! We watched it over two days in acting, and today we finished it. When I leaped out of my chair and screamed, I definitely hadn't planned on it. It was the classic excited scream, where it's a holler and scream put together, but then muffled because the person screaming tries to cover their mouth.
In English our teacher fill in person took over while our teacher and a bunch of students are in Oregon for a Shakespeare play rendition festival... thing. We spent the day looking up tidbits of info on the authors we're doing our lit study on! Edgar Allan Poe was found disoriented and delirious on the streets of *insert American city here*, wearing clothes that weren't his own! He died four days later, and never came around long enough to tell them why he was the way he was! WHOA! His death could easily have been something he wrote. Maybe he knew he had some fatal disease with only a few days to live, and he planned the whole thing out. Whoa.
Little side note here: I definitely thought he was British, not American.
I went to the doctor for my knee, and he said I grade two sprained it, and tore / stretched a few of the ligaments, but "there's enough left to hold everything together." Ha... ha... oh good! He said not to purposely stretch it, which I had been doing, so I plan to stop that now. I'll be doing physiotherapy eventually, too. But no surgery as of yet! Oh my goodness, I feel so lucky.

Now I'm going to an all nighter birthday party horror movie party! I plan to not indulge in the all nighter  part, because they totally suck in the morning. And apparently the girl has it themed as a 'Justin Bieber / Twilight' party. Not lying. I dunno... I may have to have backup before I head in.
'Cover me, I'm going in!'
